I don’t think gambling is the explanation here, Michigan still didn’t come close to covering and there’s no way there was big money on Michigan money line. I think this reeks of the conference protecting its interests by preventing one of their big name schools from taking an embarrassing, playoff-chance-ending loss in game one. As Mark Mangino once said, dollar signs baby.

Just in case people want to know what caused this incorrect score to be posted:
When ESPN's site calls a game final, it triggers our PGT generator to create the post. For a brief moment, ESPN called this game final before the review.
This typically happens once or twice a season. Some of you have seen these before and heard the explanation before, but I thought it would be useful to mention it again here as there's always new people.
This is the second post-game thread
Some users in the past got BIG MAD when the corrected PGT score wasn't posted, others were equally mad when the original wasn't kept up. So we've shifted to keeping both and just labeling the wrong post as misleading.
EDIT: Please don't post emails, phone numbers, and other ways to contact people, Reddit (the admins/Anti-Evil Operations) is going through and striking those. I get that people are upset but that's a universal no-no on this site.
