New, what is it? Bag connected to gas tank?
I saw this on a car at a red light. It looks like an IV bag with the line going into the gas tank. I thought maybe it’s being used for a fuel additive, but all the additives I’ve seen you just empty directly into the tank.
Should have flagged the driver down to ask WTH it was… Any idea, Reddit?

Thats actually a bag for a g tube or an external feeding
My 1 year old had to have a tube on the outside of his stomach to eat.

u/Fartington_Bear 17h ago
More specifically, it's a water flush bag from a tube feeding set. Food bags have a purple cap.

I use to ride with a guy who converted his car to propane. He was a salesman for the company that did the conversions. He would stop at a busy gas station, throw a couple tums into his old gas tank, fill it with water and drive away - people would chase him down to figure out what was going on and he would use his sales pitch for the propane conversion on them.

It's not an IV bag but a bag but a medical enteral feeding bag. Essentially a bag that holds the liquid food used when someone is tube feeding. More context would help here. Is the car for some sort of home health medical service? Could a be a joke that the "food bag" is feeding the car.

This is a bag that would be used to deliver continuous tube feeds via a pump to a feeding tube (nasogastric, PEG, etc). So maybe someone in the family has a feeding tube.

u/Monaco__Joe 17h ago
You're right about what it is but I think it's an attempt at humor. How? No idea but the tube runs into the closed gas cap cover. that wasn't a mistake.
