Something like “houses are built currently with copper wire. My invention makes the wire have interesting angles. This benefits the home building process by xyz.” I’m struggling to figure out how scenography is improved by this other than introducing angles to it. You gotta lay it out as if none of us have heard of that field
I appreciate your explanation. It still doesn’t make a ton of sense to me how this is applied without going more in depth. I mean, I get that there’s nodes and you are likely using a wire skeleton to achieve 3d shaping, but I don’t really see how your invention uniquely serves that or fixes it. But I find it cool that you’re pursuing your interest and creating something. Maybe I’m just too unfamiliar with the field to know what the common pain points are and see how this can fix them. I hope it pans out well for you

I understand what he's saying to help you understand - here is an example of sceneography in the art/stage sense. He is essentially making a machining device that allows complex interplay of lighting and solid shapes in formats that are organic but completely artificial for stage/art/screen whatever.

There are yellow pliers on the left. So I think the wire comes from the spool on the right and gets cut at the pliers. Maybe to make pellets or something? Or the are right before the pliers is doing some bending

Here at Rockwell Automation’s world headquarters, research has been proceeding to develop a line of automation products that establishes new standards for quality, technological leadership, and operating excellence. Everyone has a plumbus in their home.
First they take the dinglebop and they smooth it out with a bunch of schleem.
The schleem is then repurposed, for later batches.
They take the dinglebop and they push it through the grumbo, where the fleeb is rubbed against it.
It's important that the fleeb is rubbed, becasue the fleeb has all the fleeb juice.
Then, a schlami shows up, and he rubs it and spits on it.
They cut the fleeb. There's several hizzards in the way.
The blamfs rub against the chumbles, and the plubis, and grumbo are shaved away.
It's some kind of wire cutting and/or straightening machine. We use one at the transformer mfg plant I work at for cutting and stripping wire. Ours is more...contained and has less exposed parts but I doubt this gentleman has independent funds enough for something like a Schleuniger. I'd be willing to bet this guy is an electrician or at least knows his way around a solder pot very well.
Based on the spool of wire and knobby bits, I reckon it auto bends and cuts off chunks of wire. Like you would do for like a clothes hanger or a paper clip, wire goes in, gets all bent into a thing and then snips it and repeats.
OP is a highly intelligent electrical engineering hobbyist who was intently invested in his work, and no matter how much he tried to convince his wife otherwise, she insisted that he "cared about his little projects more than her." When he tried to counter that with the fact that he really didn’t, she used the video games as another example.
At last, feeling himself finally lose his temper, he admitted to her just how bizarre and soulless he really thought her hours of reality shows on Netflix truly were. She refused to accept that "her leisure time was at all as pathetic as video games." Lines were crossed, feelings effaced, and it ended.
OP went through a rough time at the beginning, but he saw merit in documenting that; having lost what he thought was the rest of his life. Not to long after - having passed enough time to be more in touch with himself - he goes onto meet a girl who is equally absorbed in a practical and fascinating hobby. I'd say this is a machine for straightening wire and then forming it into complex shapes. The wire traveling through bearings is indicative of a straightening process. It looks like there are three stepper or servo drivers. The yellow handle looks like some commercially available forming tool being actuated or perhaps just the tool to cut the wire.
OK, so I see some fairly rigid uninsulated wire, but it looks to be aluminum, not copper. And if you look to the left of the desk, it looks like he’s making various shapes held together with plastic clips. Is that decorative? I’m guessing it’s more functional. Is this a complex antenna of some sort?
Anything you’re doing to stay afloat post divorce, keep it going. Been there and it’s not easy but it looks like you’re managing well. As long as you don’t engage in destructive behavior and take it one day at a time.
I think you are livin the dream. The dream of freedom. You WILL look back on this time with fondness. I was 32 once and would do it all over again the same way.
