But the guy behind the camera is standing right next to her

My first award! Thanks

I literally watched this get downvoted in real-time. The “if you don’t have anything to hide” demographic must be waking up hungover on this lovely Sunday morning.

Edit: typo

Are we sure they are real people, and not people spreading discourse because it is their job? Or maybe bots?

63

u/LibetPugnare 4h ago

Probably both.

23

u/Fickle-Buy6009 3h ago

Certainly both.

10

u/Yakubs_2nd_Brain 3h ago

Whatever they are I certainly wouldn't consider them people. Livestock at best

6

u/Otsuko 2h ago

Almost like a flock of sheep.

u/Cat7o0 21m ago

I'd bet some people actually have that opinion, some are bots, and some have a job which means they need that opinion

50

u/jce_ 4h ago

No right now they're derailing the conversation by saying "well akshully it isn't yet illegal" as if when cars were invented and no laws existed it was morally ok to drunk drive in them and run people over because "it wasn't illegal yet". Y'know since the current laws are moral absolutes and are the exact same when technology advances

u/DrakkoZW 1h ago

There's a subset of people who literally only follow rules because they have to, and otherwise couldn't give any less of a fuck about how their actions affect people.

You know, the same people who ask "if you don't believe in God, what's stopping you from raping and murdering?"

9

u/Lawndart78 4h ago

Maybe they're downvoting because the cop beside her is more likely the stalker.

8

u/Ciennas 3h ago

The cop has to sleep at some point. The multitude of spy cameras being built by idiot billionaires don't.

4

u/eject_eject 2h ago

Sure, you may not have anything to hide, but according to who? The ones in power are the ones who decide what is moral or legal. That's a disgusting level of power.

2

u/Weed_Gummy 1h ago

I think bots are becoming self aware enough to downvote anti-AI anti-surveillance state commentary

1

u/Peachesthecorgi321 1h ago

It wouldn’t be hard to create technology that does that. It probably is best to talk to people rather than assume upvoted/downvoted content is truthful.

u/Heathcliff_Slocumb 15m ago

One would think the waking up hungover group has shit to hide so your comment makes no sense to me.

u/Bob_The_Avenger 3h ago

It doesn't usually look like this. They had a little fun here. Great series though. If you are into or know about D&D all the better but it is good even if you know nothing about it.

Remember when "Big Brother is Watching" was an example of what not to do in society?

u/ZeusUpYourAss 45m ago

I thought that's what the meme was about. Still don't understand what else is it referring to

17

u/itsmeiassureyou 4h ago

Sorry mam. #3 has qualified immunity.

15

u/Beeht 4h ago

Everyone is focused on Flock but which companies are quietly foaming at the mouth to replace them. How long will people continue to be vigilant if Flock collapses?

14

u/SemanticTriangle 2h ago

Americans identify generic products by the first prominent trademark associated with that product. Every surveillance camera is and will be a Flock, even after Flock is no more. Kleenex, Weed Wacker, Coke, on and on it goes.

u/PepperFlashy7540 46m ago

Tylenol too

u/Affectionate_Star_43 2h ago

I live next to a highway, and we were a target area for people to steal your car, jump on the highway, and disappear.  2019 was when they quietly installed all the LPRs, so we don't even have Flock.  It was handled more than half a decade beforehand by the police department.

10

u/saljskanetilldanmark 4h ago

The police: "B..but that's me!"

2

u/OldDoubt1577 1h ago

We got the admission your honor, and we WILL be using that against it in this court of law.

5

u/USF4Diago 4h ago

I'd stick that camera up my ass to protect us all

3

u/The_cogwheel 3h ago

The hero we deserve. I'll even help you cut the pole so that you can get that camera so far up there the police will be able to see what you ate for dinner last night.

2

u/USF4Diago 3h ago

Thamx;)

4

u/Distinct-Pain4972 4h ago

Interesting idea, what IS the legal definition of stalking?  It might fit as an argument against the use if a flock camera.

3

u/Fit-Ebb-6727 4h ago

I feel like multiple social media apps can count here, too. 😭

3

u/chloealine 4h ago

This is way too real.

1

u/Peachesthecorgi321 1h ago

That’s why it’s a good comic imho.

3

u/-Saltfish- 3h ago

Don't worry ma'am that's just what we use to track our exes

3

u/girlmom9420 1h ago

my county decided to completely get rid of them because they were too expensive to keep fixing and causing more problems 🤣🤣🫶🏼🫶🏼

2

u/Nitscho_i 4h ago

Can't we just put a blanket over them? The solar panel is blocked and so is the camera

2

u/C4NC4 4h ago

There's no 6th person though

2

u/Brave_Educator5934 3h ago

The real stalker is the cop next to her.

2

u/LandMooseReject 3h ago

Put the cop in #3 and the camera next to the woman because they're always watching and listening

1

u/MagnusRottcodd 4h ago

Siren Head 2.0

1

u/nickel1704 3h ago

It was number 5. Number 5 killed my brother...

1

u/ComSilence 3h ago

Oh my god I completely forgot about that

1

u/Peachesthecorgi321 1h ago

So it is about the Flock cameras. I heard the public cannot request to see who is accessing the data or control what they do with it. They didn’t even add that transparency.

u/GodofsomeWorld 43m ago

and then the police beat her up because their ai overlords told them to beat up the snitches

u/FlashyTone3042 30m ago

I heard that number 3 also objectifies women and does feature extraction on them.

u/JediMasterZao 15m ago

1: You are...
2: My fire...
3: Beep boop
4: Desire...
5: Believe.. when I say..

-2

u/Jameson1780 4h ago

"3!"?

But the lineup stops at 5.

1

u/CMoth 1h ago

The cop is the sixth man in the line up.

Sorry to see you're getting downvoted by the way, nobody appreciates a good math joke these days.

-1

u/DemonRaily 2h ago

That shit is really annoying and dystopian but it also piggybacks on laws that say you have no real right to privacy in public spaces and that allows you to film the cops and everyone acting out as well as feeds journalism and "journalism", so I doubt that laws that smack this shit down altogether will ever come out. Now cities putting pressure on the police departments and possibly defending them is possible in theory, but even places that are really blue are rarely "defund police to a point that they can't afford this shit" blue.
