Surprisingly enough, he was not really injured beyond superficial shit and he refused the ambulance on arrival.
29
u/OldWolfNewTricks 4h ago
Makes sense. Looks like he was cranky and needed a nap. He probably woke up with a much better attitude.

Dude has a future as a Waffle House cook when Taco Bell shitcans him.

u/FoolishDog1117 4h ago
I think he has what it takes.

I like how he fixes his mask after throwing the guy on the floor

u/figurative_me 4h ago
Given everything that goes on back of house, they need to be crisp for FoH otherwise the health score could get too low for business insurance. This guy is on the management track for sure

3
u/TrashAcnt1 1h ago
He's a 4 star recruit at best. He's definitely got the strength and the creativity, but for the big leagues like the Waffles he's gotta be way faster than that. At the waffle house Mr. "Hey what are we doing" wouldn't have been to scared to back up his buddy and would have been attacking at the same time and going for a slow body slam would gotten him bitten at best. Best thing about him though is he's got room and time to grow.
35
u/KILLDOZER6669 4h ago

4
u/lacticacid4breakfast 2h ago
"Welcome to Wafflehouse! So let's go meet your new team! David is at the fryer. Always on time, great guy. Did 5 for b&e and usually first if a cashier needs help. Thats Gloria at the til. Don't let her 5'2" fool ya, she can toss a grown man out the door... I've seen it. The two back at the wash? They are always stoned, 5 min later like clockwork, but they are reliable and always show up... but I'm pretty sure the skinny dude has killed a man before. Let's go meet the cooks, just avoid to much eye contact at first, they're sketchy until you get to know them."
11
u/FoxfoxrceFive 4h ago
Actually, they completely backed him! This was in South Wales i believe, so that's probably why. If that was here in the US, he'd be fired immediately.

The "customer" walked right up to him and took a swing at him. There is no denying it was self defense.

u/Syncopated_arpeggio 3h ago
I’m guessing that he started at Waffle House and moved on to TB. Dude didn’t even flinch, he’s done this a time or ten.
4
u/BenDover42 3h ago
No way Waffle House would let him walk. Every WH GM is salivating watching this clip.
2
u/Devry_Trost 3h ago
In certain parts of the USA, NO ONE has a real future as a Waffle House cook.
That place is a methamphetamine-fueled thunderdome anywhere south of the mason-dixon line. The last time I drove past a waffle house after 9 PM I heard what sounded like TWO SEPARATE GUN BATTLES coming from the lot behind it's parking lot.
I would ironically prefer to enlist in the military under Pete Hegseth's mismanagement than attempt to actually consume a full meal at a relaxed pace inside a southern Waffle House after midnight.

6
u/TheMiKmaqOfKy 3h ago
People that have never been in a fight can be clueless as to what can happen to them. They think tv shows and movies are real. My gf 19 yr old son that lives on a couch and weighs 120lbs thinks he could kick someone’s ass, and I find that hilarious while concerning because I fear he will get dropped like this guy in the video.
4
u/alloutofchewingum 3h ago

That's why it's important to get young people some fighting experience, even if just a year or two. I did boxing for a year, and I would never in a dozen lifetimes pick a fight with anyone. It's just too risky. One wrong punch from either side and either I could die, or the person in front of me. The most important skill that I learn that I can use during a fight is unironically running away.

u/MadManMax55 3h ago edited 17m ago
Which is why you should always avoid fighting (outside of competitive sports) if possible. Doesn't matter if it's justified. Doesn't matter how you feel in the moment. All it takes is one (often accidental) well placed hit or bad fall and you've ruined multiple people's lives, including your own. Very few things are worth that risk.
Edit: Apparently a bunch of you don't understand what "if possible" means. And you didn't bother to read the 20 other comments about self defense before posting your own.
10
u/Otherwise-Remove4681 2h ago
Yeah but when someone comes at you like that, presumably unprovoked, you dont want to risk being the one faceplanted on the floor.
5
u/OneBillPhil 1h ago
The guy defended himself and didn’t follow up at all when the threat was neutalized. Pretty honourable and a level of self control that many wouldn’t have.
→ More replies (1)3
u/BlackNoirsVocalCoach 57m ago
Once the threat was neutralized is the important part here. He was being threatened, any reasonable juror would perceive the flipped man to be aggressively approaching him with what seemed like a plan to initiate physical violence against him. He offered no follow up after realizing he was no longer being threatened. He restrained himself from striking the second man who approached, which I feel like a lot of people wouldn't have been able to control themselves with adrenaline.

People are so used to watching movies or professional boxing/mma matches with canvas’ they are designed to absorb some of the blow, that it’s easy to forget how fragile we are.
From a physics standpoint, there is no difference between dropping someone on to a tile floor and smashing them in the head with that same tile (well, smashing their head with tile would actually be safer since the tile would likely absorb some of the impact by cracking).
It’s why, no matter how many of these videos I see, I can’t understand why anyone would voluntarily get into a street fight. There is so much that can go wrong. These people apparently can’t envision any scenario where they actually lose the fight.

March 2022 incident at a Taco Bell in Swansea, South Wales.
Following a review of the incident, both Taco Bell corporate and the local franchise owner confirmed that they cooperated fully with the police. They established that the employee acted in self-defense against staff abuse, resulting in no disciplinary actions or charges being brought against the worker

I don't think his response was disproportionate. The guy threw a punch, he dodged it and the guy was over top of him (and still very dangerous), and he slammed the guy to the ground. He didn't attack the guy after he landed on the ground.
What is disturbing, however, is everyone hoping that the guy died or saying he deserved to die. That is not proportional and is not a healthy way of going about the world. People on reddit love jacking off to people getting hurt. They will come up with any reason to argue that it's not just okay but good to hurt people.

I will not blame the guy for defending himself. I hope that once people decided to not escalate and discontinue violence that healthcare was sought immediately as the strike to the head on a concrete floor could very well cause permanent brain damage or loss of life. Again the gentleman defending himself was not at fault nor does it look like that he was determined in any way to strike the head on the concrete floor with the intention to cause severe harm or death. It is just how the guy fell.
